Mihrab ("we", "our", or "the app") is an Islamic utility application developed and maintained by MeritLife Technologies. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the Mihrab mobile application or this website.

By using Mihrab, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app and website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Location data — used to calculate accurate prayer times and display your nearest masjids. Location is processed on-device or sent to a third-party prayer time API. We do not store your location on our servers.
• Device information — basic device identifiers (OS version, app version) may be collected for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
• Usage data — anonymous analytics such as which features are used, to help us improve the app. This data cannot be linked back to you personally.
• Form submissions — if you submit a contact form or business listing, we store the information you provide (name, email, message, business details) in our database to respond to your inquiry.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To calculate and display accurate Salah times for your location.
• To show nearby masjids and their prayer schedules.
• To respond to contact form submissions and business listing requests.
• To improve the app through anonymous usage analytics.
• To diagnose and fix technical issues.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

Mihrab integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Aladhan API — provides Islamic prayer time calculations based on your coordinates.
• BigDataCloud — used for reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to a city/country name).
• Google Play / Apple App Store — app distribution platforms with their own data practices.
• MongoDB Atlas — our cloud database, used to store business listings and contact form submissions submitted by users.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services if you have concerns about how they handle data.

5. Data Storage and Security

Prayer time calculations and location lookups are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of your session. The only data persisted in our database is information you voluntarily submit — such as contact form messages and business listing details.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect stored data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Mihrab is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not display advertising, and no data is collected for commercial profiling of any user, including minors.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of personal data you have submitted to us.
• Opt out of location access at any time through your device settings — though some features (prayer times, masjid locator) require location to function.
